Golden State Warriors Coach Steve Kerr Optimistic About Jimmy Butler's Return For Game Three Against Rockets

Steve Kerr of the Golden State Warriors is optimistic about Jimmy Butler's potential return for Game Three against the Houston Rockets following a pelvic injury. Despite missing Game Two, an MRI showed no serious damage, and Kerr believes Butler may be ready to play.

Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr is hopeful that Jimmy Butler will be fit for Game Three against the Houston Rockets. The teams are tied 1-1 in their first-round series, with the next game set at Chase Center on Saturday. Butler left Game Two early due to a pelvic contusion, but an MRI showed no fractures or structural damage.

Butler's injury occurred after a fall during a challenge from Amen Thompson in the first quarter. Despite this setback, Kerr remains optimistic about Butler's return. "I'm relatively optimistic," Kerr shared with reporters on Friday. "It's Jimmy, and we know he's willing to play through anything, so we'll see."

Warriors Hopeful for Butler's Game Three Return

Steph Curry had missed two games last month with a similar injury, yet Kerr believes Butler might be ready for Saturday. "This is a day-to-day thing, for sure, and we'll see how he feels tomorrow," Kerr added. "But I think there's a chance he plays."

Jonathan Kuminga stepped up in Butler's absence during Game Two, contributing 11 points. If needed again, Kerr assures that the Warriors are prepared. "There's not two game plans, but two rotations for," he explained. "The game plan doesn't change."

The Warriors' official Twitter account encouraged fans with a post:

The anticipation builds as both teams prepare for the crucial third game of their series. With Butler's potential return and Kuminga's readiness to step in if needed, the Warriors aim to take the lead in this tightly contested matchup.
