By Anmolg

London: Former World Boxing Association(WBA) super-featherweight and lightweight champion Joel Casamayor has issued a death threat to British boxer Amir Khan.

The threat was passed on ahead of the Casamayor-Khan fight for the WBA light-welterweight title at London"s O2 Arena on July 31.

“I am going to knock out Amir Khan dead. I am a four-time world champion in two different weight classes and I am going to prove he''s a nobody," The Sun quoted Casamayor, as saying.

Joel Casamayor nicknamed "El Cepillo" is a Cuban boxer, who turned pro after defecting to the United States on the eve of the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. He was selected over a number of other possible opponents in both the lightweight and junior welterweight division, including over WBO lightweight interim champion Michael Katsidis.

Amir Khan is a 22 year old British boxer. He is the current WBA World light welterweight champion. Khan won the belt at the age of 22, making him Britain's third -youngest world champion after Naseem Hamed and Herbie Hide.

Casamayor"s manager Luis DeCubas said: “July 31 is the date we"re fighting Amir. The money hasn"t been squared 100 per cent but we"re working on that now."
