Masutatsu Oyama Karate Organisation won 8 gold medals. Kolkata-based organization Mikel's Martial Arts hosted the tournament quite efficiently, which had the support of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, the Government of West Bengal, and the FIT India Movement.

Speaking on the occasion, Sensei Mayukh Banerjee (3rd Dan Black Belt and Founder Mike's Martial Arts) said, "This competition is about instilling the spirit of full contact karate among the participants. The heart of our karate is real fighting. There can be no proof without real fighting. Without proof, there is no trust. Without trust, there is no respect."

Shri Aneesh Dasgupta (IAS), ADM, South 24 Parganas said, "Knowledge of full contact karate, Kyokushin, is important for the youth today because of self-defense and self-protection. But this knowledge must be used correctly, and not for fighting. Being a full contact karate event, all participants must take care, use proper protective kits, and avoid injuries."

Among prominent Gold Medalists who were seen in action at the KBK were Rishika Banerjee, Sneha Samanta, and Babu Biswas, who rose the highest to win the prestigious Gold Medal in their respective categories.
