Western Railway, Southern Railway enter semis

Chennai, June 7 (UNI) Western Railway (Maharashtra) and Southern Railway (Chennai) from Group A and KSEB (Trivandrum) and Central Railway (Maharashtra) from Group B entered the women's semifinals of the St Joseph's-P John Memorial All India Volleyball tournament here today.

In the last league matches, Western Railway defeated St'Joseph college of Engineering 26-24, 25-15 and topped the four team Group A with three wins. Southern Railway defeated G K M volleyball Club 25-20, 25-22 and finished second with two wins.

In Pool B, both KSEB and Central Railway had two wins each and would come face to face later tonight to identify the group topper.

In the men's section, Southern Railway defeated KSEB 16-25, 25-21, 25-23, 27-25 for its first win in Group B after they were derailed 22-25, 16-25, 25-18, 21-25 by Indian Bank last night.

Hosts Nellai Friends shocked ICF, Chennai 20-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-17, 15-11 for its first win.
