Adelman Reflects On Jokic's Frustrating NBA Night Amid Nuggets' Victory

David Adelman commented on Nikola Jokic's challenging performance during the Nuggets' playoff win over the Thunder. Despite eight turnovers and missed shots, Jokic contributed significantly to the team's success.

David Adelman humorously commented on Nikola Jokic's challenging NBA performance, expressing confidence in the Denver Nuggets star's ability to rebound in Game 4 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Despite Jokic's struggles on Friday, he contributed to a 113-104 overtime win, giving the Nuggets a 2-1 lead in the Western Conference semifinals. Jokic recorded eight turnovers and missed 17 of his 25 shots, including all 10 three-point attempts, yet still managed 20 points, 16 rebounds, and six assists.

Adelman adopted a light-hearted tone regarding Jokic's frustrations. "I mean, 20, 16 and 6, what an awful NBA night," Adelman chuckled. "I'm sure he's frustrated when you're so efficient, maybe arguably one of the most efficient players to ever play any sport. Yeah, I get it. I get why he's frustrated. But Game 4 is going to come, and he's going to touch it a million times. I hope he shoots it all the time."

Adelman on Jokic's Off Night in Playoffs

Jokic wasn't alone in having an off-night; Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Thunder also struggled with his shooting. He went 7-for-22 from the field and ended with 18 points. Meanwhile, Jamal Murray led the Nuggets with an impressive 27 points. Aaron Gordon added another strong performance with 22 points while Michael Porter Jr contributed with 21.

Thunder coach Mark Daigneault acknowledged the difficulty of losing but remained optimistic about his team's progress throughout the series. "It's obviously lousy to lose," Daigneault said. "But you can take a lot away, and we want to be a team that's improving through the series." He praised their efforts against Jokic and noted that both teams fought hard.

Daigneault emphasized that losses are painful but part of becoming a great team involves facing tough playoff challenges head-on. "Losses always sting," he stated. "Especially in the playoffs, but what I would say is we are in the process of becoming a great team." He highlighted their progress by saying they've checked many boxes necessary for greatness.

The coach believes that being pushed to limits during playoffs is crucial for growth and meeting challenges head-on is essential for success. The Thunder aim to continue improving as they navigate through this intense series against Denver.

The upcoming Game 4 presents an opportunity for both teams to showcase their resilience and adaptability as they strive for victory in this competitive playoff matchup.
