Indian para-athlete Manish Narwal has clinched Silver Medal in the 10 m Air Pistol in the Paris Paralympics 2024 on Friday (August 30).
The Indian para-athlete shot a total of 234.9 to settle for the second position in the final while South Korea's Jeongdu Jo clinched the gold medal with a score of 237.4. China's Chao Yang settled for the bronze medal with a total score of 214.3.

Manish Narwal, a prominent figure in the Indian Para Shooting Team, originates from Ballabgarh, Haryana. Despite being born with a congenital impairment in his right hand and coming from a humble background, his journey into shooting began in 2016 when his family introduced him to a local shooting range.

Initially unaware of the Paralympics, Manish simply enjoyed competing with other athletes. His talent was quickly noticed by coach Jai Prakash Nautiyal.
Under Nautiyal's guidance, Manish made his international debut at the 2017 Bangkok World Cup. There, he won gold in the P1 - 10m Air Pistol SH1 event and set a Junior World Record in both qualification and finals. This marked the beginning of his illustrious career.
Manish Narwal has accumulated numerous accolades throughout his career. At the 2020 Paralympic Games, he secured a gold medal in the P4 - Mixed 50m Pistol event. In the 2022 Asian Para Games, he earned a bronze medal in the P1 - Men's 10m Air Pistol category. His achievements also include a gold medal in the P1 - Men's 10M Air Pistol and a silver medal in the P4 - Mixed 50M Free Pistol at the 2018 Asian Para Games.
