Three Reasons Why Superlek Kiatmoo9 Could Be ONE Championship’s Unstoppable World Champ

Singapore, March 28: ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 may have had his fight week interrupted, but the outcome remained the same.

"The Kicking Machine" was supposed to meet fellow striking standout and ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon last Friday, 25 March, at ONE Fight Night 8 before an injury forced "The Iron Man" out of the contest.

Superlek needed a courageous opponent, and Australia's Danial Williams stepped in for an opportunity to take the throne. Despite the short-notice replacement, the Thai superstar left the Circle victorious and dispatched his challenger in dominant fashion.

With that said, here are three reasons why Superlek could continue to be an unstoppable force as the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion.

1. Superlek's Flexibility

When preparing for Rodtang, you'd think the game plan would be quite specific. After all, Superlek was trying to beat an opponent who has been undefeated in ONE's striking arts.

However, Superlek was able to adjust his game plan for an altogether differently styled opponent in Williams on just a few days' notice - and that speaks volumes of his skill set.

2. Superlek's Stunning Performances

The definitive third-round finish of "Mini T" showcased the danger that comes with facing Superlek. The victory was his second stoppage in the last 12 months.

"Mini T" provided a valiant effort against the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champ, but Superlek's supreme conditioning was untouchable. The Thai striker's cardio has enabled him to control bouts from beginning to end, handing out endless punishment to the souls who stand across from him.

Last Friday's bout was Superlek's first defense of his kickboxing crown, and "The Kicking Machine" certainly let everybody know he will not be moved from his position at the top of the division.

3. Superlek Remains Dangerous

Having reached the helm of flyweight kickboxing in January at ONE Fight Night 6, Superlek's fighting style looks to have only gotten fiercer.

Superlek has always enjoyed finishing an opponent in definitive fashion, but his determination to assert himself as the untouchable king against "Mini T" was there for all to see.

In usual circumstances, once the Kiatmoo9 Gym standout has an opponent hurt, he will stalk them down and find the perfect opportunity to finish the fight. This time, once he smelled a finish, the game was up and Williams was down and out following magnificent combinations.

The victory set Superlek's reign rolling in strong fashion, and should he continue to offer performances of this caliber, his time at the head of the table could last a long time.
