WNBA: Dallas Wings Triumph Over Defending Champions New York Liberty With Strong Performance

Jonquel Jones led the Liberty with 18 points and eight rebounds, while Sabrina Ionescu scored 17 points in their loss. The Wings dominated early, opening with a 21-4 run and ending the first quarter ahead by 31-19.

Wings Beat Liberty in WNBA Showdown

The Wings maintained their momentum into the second quarter, shooting an impressive 58.3 per cent to secure a substantial half-time lead of 63-36. Despite a late surge from New York, which included a 17-0 run capped by Jones' three-pointer, Bueckers sealed the win with two crucial free throws.

Nneka Ogwumike scored 26 points and Skylar Diggins achieved a triple-double as Seattle Storm defeated Connecticut Sun 101-85. Diggins recorded her first career regular-season triple-double with 11 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists. Ogwumike's efficient shooting helped Seattle (16-11) maintain control throughout the game.

The Storm excelled in the third quarter, hitting an impressive 86.7 per cent of their shots to set a franchise record for field goal percentage in any quarter. Gabby Williams added to Seattle's scoring with 16 points on efficient shooting. Connecticut (4-21), coming off a win against Golden State Valkyries, struggled to keep pace.

The Storm took control early with an initial run of 11-1 to lead by eight at the end of the first quarter. They extended their advantage further with a nine-point spurt early in the second period. By half-time, Seattle led comfortably at 57-46 before overwhelming Connecticut in the third quarter.
