Women shooters have dismal show at World Cup

Suhl, Germany, Jun 6: Shagun Chowdhary finished 38th as Indian women trap shooters had a dismal outing on the first day of the World Cup being held here.

Shagun shot 19, 21, 21 for a score of 61 yesterday. However, the other Indians in the fray had a disappointing show with Seema Tomar shooting a poor 57 (20, 21, 16) to finish 44th, just two ranks above Shreyasi Singh who was placed 46th. Shreyasi manage a score of 50 (16, 17, 17). Junior world champion Jessica Rossi of Italy outplayed world champion Liu Yingzi of China to win her first World Cup gold.

Rossi shot 94 (72+22). Liu landed in third place, while the silver went to the Daniela Del Din of San Marino.
