Women's chess meet to celebrate Women's Day

Mumbai, Mar 7 (UNI) The Chanakya Chess Association will celebrate International Women's Day tomorrow by organising a chess tourney exclusively for women on March 9.

The event, which will be conducted by the Bombay Chess Association, will be held for girls and women in different age categories. The age categories are 7, 8, 10, 12, 15, 18, 21 and an Open category, a release issued here today stated.

The event will also carry a social message of 'Save The Girl Child' and an competition wherein essays have been invited on this subject through mails. The winners, whose names will be declared on March 18, will receive gift hampers.

The organisers will also give away six prizes in each category, while medals will be given to those participating in the Open category, the release added.
