Woods stretches lead in world rankings
LONDON, Jan 29 (Reuters) Tiger Woods reinforced his commanding position at the top of the world rankings issued today after landing his seventh consecutive PGA Tour win at the Buick Invitational.
The 31-year-old American, who beat Charles Howell III by two strokes in California yesterday, increased his rankings lead over second-placed Jim Furyk to nearly 12 points.
South African Retief Goosen climbed two places to number six after collecting his 14th European Tour victory at the Qatar Masters.
Phil Mickelson lost his number four spot to Ernie Els, who inished third in Doha.
