World Athletics Continental Silver Meet 2026: Full Schedule of Events, Top Stars to Watch in Bhubaneswar Event

The World Athletics Continental Tour Silver 2026 is set to take place at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on Saturday (August 22).

The one-day athletics meet brings together a strong field of Indian and international athletes across track and field events. The official technical schedule features 22 competition events, beginning at 4:00 PM with the women’s discus throw and concluding with the men’s 5000m at 8:00 PM.

Leading the field is Zambian athlete Muzala Samukonga, ranked sixth in the world and a Paris 2024 Olympic bronze medallist in the men's 400 metres. Nigerian shot putter Chukwuebuka Enekwechi, ranked tenth globally, also features prominently. Approximately 36 athletes from the world's top 50 compete among nearly 200 participants representing more than 20 nations.

The programme includes a mix of sprinting, middle-distance and long-distance races, hurdles, jumps and throws. Among the major Indian names listed are Murali Sreeshankar in the men’s long jump, Jyothi Yarraji in the women’s 100m hurdles, Annu Rani in the women’s javelin throw, Kishore Jena and Arshdeep Singh in the men’s javelin, and Tajinderpal Singh Toor in the men’s shot put. The meet also features several international competitors from countries including Brazil, South Africa, Japan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Kenya, Nigeria, Jamaica, Great Britain and Australia.

The evening programme becomes particularly busy from 5:00 PM onwards, with the 100m, 400m, long jump and javelin events taking place alongside the distance races. The official start list identifies all participating athletes and their respective countries or Indian states.
