Day 4 of the World Athletics U20 Championships 2024 in Lima, Peru, finally saw India's first medal. Aarti bagged a bronze medal in the Women's 10,000 Metres Race Walk, where she clocked 44:39.39, setting a new U20 National Record. However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for India as some athletes fell short of expectations.

In the Men's 4x400 Metres Relay heats, Rihan Chaudhary, Ankul, Abiram Pramod, and Jay Kumar delivered an exceptional performance, breaking the National Record with a timing of 3:08.10 to qualify for the final. Meanwhile, other Indian athletes faced challenges in their respective events, with some unable to make it past the qualification rounds.
