World Boxing Champion ties knot

Kannur, Kerala, Oct 2 (UNI) World Women's Boxing Champion K C Lekha got married at a simple function here today.

Lekha, who bagged a silver medal in the fourth Asian Women's Boxing Championship held at Guwahati last week, got married to P P Karunakaran, a sub-inspector of police.

Lekha hails from Perumbadavu near Allakode in this district and Karunakaran from Naduvil near Perumbadavu.

She had participated in national and international boxing championships.

Lekha had won the silver medal in the Asian Women's Championship 2003 and gold in the 2004 Asian Games.
