In the men’s 50kg category, Ambekar Meetei added to India’s tally. He defeated Japan’s Akira Uekubo with a 4-1 score. During the evening session, Chandrika Pujari (51kg) beat Spain’s Andrea Buelga García by RSC in the second round, sealing another assured medal.

Longjam advances; Duhan misses out

India’s fifth semifinalist came from the women’s 57kg division. Radhamani Longjam earned a 4-1 win over England’s Siobhan Haley. In contrast, Sahil Duhan (60kg) exited the competition. He lost his quarterfinal bout 1-4 against France’s David Harutyunyan in a tough contest.
