Akron, Aug 6: Tiger Woods continues to slip down the hill as he dished out his career-worst score in the opening round at the Bridgestone Invitational on Thursday, Aug 5.
The world number one golfer has reigned the World Golf Championships event claiming it seven times at the Firestone Country Club.
Now, he looks in the worst shape ever. He scored a shocking four-over-par 74 in the opening round.
"It's frustrating, because I warmed up well and my practice sessions at home were good," said the golfing legend.
"Today was not indicative of how I've been playing. The last three holes I hit some good shots but the majority of the day I didn't. I just didn't play well, didn't get off to a good start, two-over through two easy holes. I hit about two good iron shots all day and didn't hit any good putts either.
"The only thing I did good today is I kept my patience, grinded all day, and that was the best I could have done," he added.
Looks like his personal life disaster in connection with this multiple extra marital affairs that surfaced in Dec 2009 has certainly taken a toll on him.
He has not been able to perform the way he used to. The worse part is he has failed to recoup from the sex scandal and faces the threat of losing his numero uno status.
