World Military Games Mascot 'Bravo' at India Gate
New Delhi, Jan 12 (UNI) In a unique and memorable gesture, 'Bravo' -- mascot of the 4th CISM Military World Games 2007 -- paid floral tributes at the Amar Jawan Jyoti here today.
The mascot marched to India Gate to the drum beats and paid homage at Amar Jawan Jyoti by laying a wreath at the war memorial.
'Bravo' then spent some time at the memorial -- much to the joy of the numerous visitors who throng the famous India Gate.
The 4th CISM Military World Games are slated to be the biggest sporting event so far to take place in India. More than 100 countries and 6,000 sportspersons, including several world champions and Olympians, will be participating in as many as 15 events.
These Games are more than twice the size of the Commonwealth Games and three times the size of the Afro-Asian Games. The Military Games would be held at Hyderabad and Mumbai from October 14 to 21 later this year.
The Games Mascot 'Bravo' was launched recently in the capital.
'Bravo' -- representing the Great Indian Bison -- will now proceed on a nationwide tour with his itinerary including visits to remote and far flung places where troops of the Indian Armed Forces are stationed besides key cantonments and cities in India.
