World Padel League Season 4: Vedanta Leopards start with stunning win, Panthers prevail over Cheetahs
The Vedanta Leopards opened their World Padel League Season 4 campaign with a hard-fought 18-16 victory over Aussie Mavericks Jaguars on the opening day. The Leopards, who finished runners-up last season, showed composure under pressure to edge a closely contested encounter and start their round-robin campaign on a winning note.
The Jaguars made the stronger start in the opening contest, with Alejandra Alonso and Claudia Jensen defeating Marta Ortega and Veronica Virseda 7-5 in the women's doubles. The Leopards responded in the second game as Miguel and Nuno Deus secured a 7-6 win over Ignacio Piotto and Enzo Jensen following a tense tiebreak.

With the contest finely balanced, the deciding men's doubles clash proved crucial. Fran Guerrero and Javi Ruiz held their nerve against Pol Hernandez and Guille Collado, winning 6-3 to complete the Leopards' comeback and seal an 18-16 overall triumph.
The second match of the opening day saw Hubtown Panorama Panthers produce an impressive turnaround against VB Realty Cheetahs, winning 16-9.
The Cheetahs took control early, with Lucho Capra and Jesus Moya beating Juan Tello and Eduardo Alonso 6-4 in the opening set. However, the Panthers responded emphatically in the women's doubles, as Marta Caparros and Marta Barrera defeated Aranzazu Osoro and Julieta Bidahorria 6-1.
The Panthers then completed the comeback in the final men's doubles encounter. Enrique Goenaga and Rama Valenzuela defeated Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz 6-2 to secure a 16-9 victory.
