World Cup blow for Defoe as he breaks his hand

By Super Admin

London, Oct.1 (ANI): Tottenham and England star Jermain Defoe has dislocated two fingers, and his World Cup qualifier hopes have suffered a major blow as a result.

The Sun quoted Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp as saying: "He is struggling. Jermain dislocated two fingers against Burnley last Saturday and they couldn't get them back in. But he has also fractured his hand. He spent all Saturday night in hospital and is struggling."

"Hopefully, he'll be OK for England but we'll have to wait and see," he added.

England boss Fabio Capello will name his squad on Sunday for next week's final Group Six qualifiers against Ukraine and Belarus. (ANI)
