Zaheer doubtful for tomorrow's match
Chennai, June 9 (UNI) Medium pacer Zaheer Khan will be a doubtful starter, while left hander Yuvraj Singh will be promoted up the order in the final ODI of the Afro-Asia Cup tomorrow.
Talking to reporters after Asia's series clinching win over Africa here tonight, Asian skipper Mahela Jaywardane said Zahher had a strain and left the field after bowling just 2.2 overs today.
''He is a doubtful starter tomorrow. There is nothing serious about it,'' he said.
Mahela, who bowled two overs today, also hinted that he might rotate his arm tomorrow also.
''Since we have only four bowlers, if Zaheer could not play in the final eleven tomorrow, I may bowl tomorrow.'' The skipper also said Yuvraj, who provided the final thrust with a 13-ball 30 today, will be sent up the order to enable him to spend more time in the middle.
Jayawardane attributed today's series win to his judicial use of his bowlers, especially during the power-plays and praised Dilhara Fernando's man-of-the-match winning four-wicket haul.
Meanwhile African skipper Justin Kemp admitted that his side was inexperienced.
''We cannot ask more from them. Asian XI was a superior side with world class players. However, we will try our best to win tomorrow''.
He said the African side was also plagued with injuries with Morkel, Boucher and Odoyo carrying injuries and would be doubtful for tomorrow.
