Zero Friction announces Vixture Gaming Championship
New Delhi, Apr 29 (UNI) Gaming fans in the country are in for a treat with Zero Friction announcing the launch of the Vixture gaming championship here today.
''India is a nascent market for gaming. Unlike other countries, Gaming in India does not enjoy recognition as a serious sport,'' Zero Friction's India subsidiary director Charu Sabale told mediapersons here.
''It has got all the ingredients for success,'' she added.
''I am sure it will be a huge hit with the fans.'' Vixture will feature five games - Crises, Need for Speed, Fifa and Cricket.
The event, with a total prize money of Rs 50 lakh, will see teams comprising five players each competing in preliminaries across six cities - Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune from May 15-30.
The final will showcase 64 finalist teams who will vie for the top spot in Mumbai on June 13 -15.
The winners will receive Rs 20 lakhs while the runners-up will get Rs 10 lakhs. Top gamers in each of the five games will win Rs four lakhs each.
