Ecclestone says that he will continue to run Formula One

London, Sep.28 (ANI): Bernie Ecclestone has reiterated that he will continue to run Formula One despite copping some criticism about how he has been handling the sport from Sir Martin Sorrell, a director of the company that owns the sport.

Ecclestone, who owns the commercial rights to F1 through his company Formula One Management, said at the Singapore race that the comments were just sticks and stones and not the start of a campaign to oust him from his post, The Sun reports.

"When I think I can't run F1 I will stop. I've no idea when that will be," said Ecclestone, 79.

"Who knows how well I will be in 20 years. Sorrell is a non-executive, a very, very, very minor director. I cannot be forced out and I don't think that is what this is about,'' he added.

Sorrell is chief executive of global marketing company WPP and was incensed at comments Ecclestone made a few weeks ago about Adolf Hitler.

Ecclestone claims those comments were taken out of context. (ANI)
