Lando Norris on Pole, Max Verstappen Down in P7: Dutch Grand Prix Qualifying Results

Lando Norris secured pole position for the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix after a frantic qualifying session at Zandvoort, edging George Russell by 0.102 seconds.

With rain threatening during the final stages of qualifying, drivers rushed to complete their second Q3 runs. Norris delivered when it mattered, setting a 1:11.163 to claim his second pole position of the season.

Russell qualified second for Mercedes, while teammate Kimi Antonelli completed the top three. Oscar Piastri put the second McLaren fourth, narrowly missing out on the front row.

Lewis Hamilton took fifth for Ferrari after taking the risk of completing his final lap as conditions threatened to worsen. His teammate Charles Leclerc qualified sixth, while home favourite Max Verstappen could only manage seventh for Red Bull.

Liam Lawson qualified eighth in the second Red Bull, followed by Gabriel Bortoleto in ninth for Audi and Racing Bulls rookie Arvid Lindblad in 10th.

Lando Norris beats Russell in tense Q3

Norris produced his decisive lap late in Q3 as the threat of rain added further pressure to the final runs.

His 1:11.163 was enough to put McLaren at the front, with Russell finishing just 0.102 seconds behind. Antonelli was only 0.133 seconds off pole in third, while Piastri ended the session fourth.

Hamilton's late effort secured fifth, with the seven-time world champion 0.331 seconds off Norris' benchmark. Leclerc was sixth, ahead of Verstappen.

Verstappen's seventh-place finish will be a disappointment at his home race, particularly after Mercedes and McLaren locked out the top four positions.
