F1: Sebastian Vettel wins European Grand Prix

Valencia, Jun 27: Germany's Sebastian Vettel, who is also the defending Formula One world champion, on Jun 26 won the European GRand Prix. The victory has ensured that there is an extension to his lead in the overall standings with his sixth win in eight races, this year.

Vettel, who in 2010 became the youngest ever Formula One world champion was clearly at ease here and showed no signs of any effect of the lap error in Montreal, Canada a fortnight ago.

The 23-year old German, quite comfortably coasted home in his Red Bull leaving behind Spain's Fernando Alonso in a Ferrari. Alonso, stayed second while Vettel's Red Bull team-mate rounded up the top three.

Lewis Hamilton, the 2008 world champion, for McLaren curbed his hell-may-care style and finish the race at the fourth place. Brazil's Felipe Massa in the second Ferrari and Jenson Button, the Canadian Grand Prix winner, finished fifth and sixth, respectively.

Force India's Adrian Sutil ended up at the ninth place.

As soon as he won the race, Vettel on his radio exclaimed, "Ooooooh yes, baby!That is better than anything you can imagine this year. Yes. Yehhhh!

Vettel's efforts got him high praises from Red Bull team chief Christian Horner, who said, "He just enjoyed this afternoon as you could see. He drove a fantastic race and he got everything right. It was just perfect."
