Lewis Hamilton acknowledged that Ferrari needs to make improvements after George Russell, his former Mercedes teammate, led the final day of pre-season testing. Charles Leclerc initially set the pace for Ferrari in the morning session. However, Russell surpassed Max Verstappen by 0.021 seconds just before Friday's session concluded.
Hamilton finished sixth fastest in his Ferrari, trailing Russell by 0.8 seconds. Alex Albon's Williams surprisingly secured a spot in the top three. Oscar Piastri from McLaren and Pierre Gasly from Alpine finished ahead of Hamilton. The Briton admitted that enhancements are necessary before the Melbourne race on March 16.

"It's hard to know what fuel loads everyone is running so you have to take everything with a pinch of salt," Hamilton remarked. He noted McLaren's previous success in winning the constructors' title last year and expects them to be among the fastest teams this season.
Before participating in the afternoon session, Hamilton expressed optimism about his first pre-season test with Ferrari. "I feel like we've built a really good foundation, but these guys out there look really competitive, it looks very close," he said. He described this as the most positive feeling he's had in a long time.
Hamilton's day ended earlier than planned when Ferrari stopped his run prematurely, preventing him from completing the intended race distance. Despite this, he was nearly half a second faster than Leclerc, although he used a softer tyre compound.
The top ten on the final day included Yuki Tsunoda, Esteban Ocon, Leclerc, and Kimi Antonelli. Lando Norris, considered a title favourite, concluded pre-season testing in 11th place. Carlos Sainz achieved the fastest overall time during the three days of testing at Bahrain International Circuit with a lap time of 1:29.348.
The upcoming season promises intense competition as teams prepare for Melbourne's race on March 16. With various teams showing strong performances during testing, fans can anticipate an exciting start to the racing calendar.
