Singapore, Jun 20 (UNI) Asia's first ever Formula One night race, to be held here on September 28, has evoked an overwhelming response from fans with organisers disclosing that they had already sold 85 per cent of the tickets.
The event is slated to be held on a street circuit of public roads around the Marina Bay area, and will be the first night street race in the Continent.
Over 85,000 three-day walkabout and grandstand passes have already been sold, said the organisers who have been taken by surpise by such a huge demand from sports afficandos.
Of these, the Stamford, Raffles and Marina grandstands are sold out while Turn 2, Turn 3 and the Esplanade Waterfront grandstands have very limited or single-seat availability, they said.
However, there are still a number of good seats available in the remaining grandstands namely - the Pit, Turn 1, Padang, Bay grandstands and the newly released Esplanade Steps and Singapore Flyer Promenade Premier Grandstands.
