Margao, Dec 18: Buoyed by their win against Sporting Club de Goa, Mahindra United, Mumbai is hoping to garner full points when they lock horns against lowly-placed Salgaocar Sports Club in their sixth round ONGC I-League championship match to be played here at the Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, tomorrow.
Both teams have been inconsistent in their performances in the league so far and need win to improve their points tally. Tomorrow's match promises to be a close contest. Mahindra with six points from a win and three draws, have an edge over Salgaocar who have not registered a single win so far and are precariously placed with only two points from two drawn matches out of five outings. Mahindra coach Derrick Pereira said though his boys are in an upbeat mood after winning the last match at the same venue, his main concern, however, is the form of the strikers who have failed to convert their chances. He said the League is tough, ''we have to be more organised and focus on every match to come good''.
''Our ace striker Yakubu Yusif and N Pradeep, who are nursing injuries, will not be playing tomorrow,'' he informed.
Pereira said Mahindra's main aim tomorrow will be to snatch full points and, ''if midfield and strikers combine well, it will not be a difficult task''.
Salgaocar coach Savio Medeira agreed his team needs to strike a winning form. ''The boys have to pull up their socks to achieve results,'' he said.
Medeira, however, was worried about the form of striker Felix who has not found his rhythm so far. He hoped that Felix and Boniface Ambani will combine well to find the target.
