Lando Norris reflected on his performance at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, admitting he might be putting excessive pressure on himself. Despite leading the drivers' championship initially, a crash during qualifying saw him start 10th on the grid. He finished fourth, narrowly missing out on third place to Charles Leclerc. This result dropped him to second in the standings, trailing Oscar Piastri by 10 points.

Norris has had a strong season so far, winning the opening race in Australia and securing three podium finishes. However, he believes his quest for perfection might be counterproductive. "I want to be pole, I want to win, I want to be perfect," he shared on the F1 Nation podcast. He acknowledged that striving for flawlessness could lead to mistakes.

Reflecting on his mindset before races, Norris mentioned feeling relaxed despite setbacks like Saturday's crash. "I put in my headphones for the first time ever," he said, noting that this helped him perform well by keeping him calm and focused. He realised that accepting imperfections might improve his performance.

The season takes a break before resuming in Miami, where Norris claimed his first Grand Prix victory last year. He remains optimistic about his championship prospects. "I think I just need to chill out a little bit and have a bit more trust in my speed," he stated confidently.

Norris is determined to improve his Saturday performances, which he believes are crucial for race success. "It's easier said than done," he admitted but emphasised that better qualifying results would enhance his chances of winning races.

Norris's confidence stems from consistently strong performances throughout the season. He believes that trusting in his abilities will allow him to challenge for victories more effectively. His focus remains on refining his approach during qualifying sessions.
