
Bengaluru, August 12: Australia's Jack Miller has signed up for Octa Pramac Ducati Racing Team for the 2018 MotoGP season.
The Marc VDS Racing Team rider, who is set to end his three-year relationship with Honda at the end of the season, will now be seen behind the wheels of Ducati Desmosedici GP bike with Danilo Petrucci as his team-mate.
The deal, which had been speculated for some time, was completed at Brno after the Czech Republic Grand Prix last weekend, and announced on the eve of this weekend's Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring.
The contract is a direct deal with Ducati.
Jack will replace British rider Scott Redding in the Pramac stable, and will ride a GP17 bike next season.
Team Pramac welcomed Miller on board via their Twitter handle.
A Townsville native, Miller made his debut in the 125 cc World Championship in 2011. he immediately swicthed to Moto3, where he finished runner-up in the 2014 season.
The 22-year-old joined MotoGP the following year and in 2016, scored his first win in the Dutch GP at Assen, incidentally becoming the first from his country to win a MotoGP race since Casey Stoner at the 2012 Australian Grand Prix.
Incidentally, the two-time world champion is currently a Ducati factory team test rider.
Miller finished 14th in last Sunday's Czech GP at Brno and is currently placed 12th in the championship with 43 points.
