MotoGP Sprint Race standings 2023: MotoGP 2023 has introduced Sprint Race formats for all its 21 rounds. Started with the opening round in Portimao hosting the Grand Prix of Portugal, Sprint Race will only cover half the distance in comparison to the main race and will take place every Saturday.
There's a tweak in the regular weekend schedule as well with the inclusion of the Sprint race as the combined results of Free Practice 1 and Free Practice 2 decide who all go into Qualifying 2 directly and who all have to compete in the Qualifying 1 knockouts.

There will be half an hour session of FP3 on Saturday as well right before the Qualifying while the Sprint race grid spots are decided based on Qualifying 2 results. The Qualifying 2 results will also determine the starting grid for the main race.
Points on the offer at the Sprint race are 12, 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 for the top 9 spots. However, the points earned will not be added to the MotoGP Championship points and will be maintained separately. The points earned will not go into the history books of MotoGP, which also means the winner won't be counted as the GP winner.
