Mumbai’s Kiaan Shah and Krish Gupta Shine in Final Rounds to Finish Second in National Karting Championship

Bengaluru, November 9: Mumbai’s rising racing stars Kiaan Shah and Krish Gupta of Rayo Racing produced brilliant performances in the closing rounds of the Meco FMSCI National Rotax Karting Championship 2025, finishing second overall in the Junior and Senior categories respectively.

In an intense weekend double-header featuring Rounds 5 and 6, held at Bengaluru, both racers showcased skill, composure, and endurance to climb the leaderboard and end the championship on a high.

Kiaan’s Double Victory Seals Junior Category Comeback

After a challenging start in Round 5 qualifying — where he could only manage fifth, 0.352 seconds behind Chennai’s Shivaan Karthik (MSport) — Kiaan Shah fought back brilliantly. He finished second in both the Heat and Pre-Final before turning on the power in the Final, where he overcame a fierce five-kart battle to claim victory ahead of Eshanth Vengatesan (MSport).

In Round 6, Kiaan was unstoppable. Despite qualifying fourth, just 0.16 seconds behind the pole-sitter, he powered through the field in Heat 1, overtaking multiple rivals to take the lead before the final corner. He carried the momentum to win both the Pre-Final and Final, securing back-to-back wins — his third of the championship.

The consistent results saw Kiaan climb to second overall in the Junior standings, capping off a memorable season.

Krish Gupta’s Consistency Pays Off in Senior Category

In the Senior division, Krish Gupta displayed speed and consistency across both rounds. In Round 5, he qualified second, just 0.216 seconds behind Bengaluru’s Ishaan Madesh (Peregrine Racing), and went on to finish third in the final behind Madesh and Aarav Dewan (Leapfrog Racing).

Round 6 followed a similar pattern — Madesh continued his dominance, but Krish kept the pressure on throughout, finishing second in both the Pre-Final and Final, ahead of Arjun Chheda (Crest Motorsport).

Krish’s back-to-back podiums ensured he finished second overall in the Senior National Championship, confirming a strong showing for Rayo Racing.

Other Highlights

  • Aarav Sureka (Rayo Racing, Mumbai) bagged his second pole of the season in the Micro category but suffered a DNF in the Pre-Final.
  • Rayo Racing’s Danish Dalmiya (Pune) finished fourth in the final, securing third overall in the National Championship standings.
  • Rounds 5 and 6 tested the racers’ fitness and focus as both were held together, demanding sustained peak performance.

Next Stop: FIA Karting World Cup, Malaysia

Following his stellar domestic campaign, Kiaan Shah is now set for his biggest international challenge yet — the FIA Karting World Cup in Malaysia (Nov 15–16, 2025), where he will represent India among the world’s best young karters.
