ONE Championship Parts Ways With Adriano Moraes, Zebaztian Kadestam, Others in Major Roster Shake-Up

By MyKhel Staff

ONE Championship has released four MMA fighters from its roster. The Bangkok Post reported the exits on Monday. The list features Adriano Moraes, Zebaztian Kadestam, Ilya Freymanov, and Mauro Cerilli. Moraes is the most prominent name. All four leave with winning overall MMA records.

Moraes exits at 37 with a 21-6 MMA record. His ONE Championship record stands at 11-6. Kadestam departs at 35 with a 15-8 record. Freymanov leaves at 30 with a 12-3 slate. Cerilli, aged 43, closes his run at 15-6 overall.

ONE Championship releases four veterans
Fighter Age Nationality Overall MMA record ONE record
Adriano Moraes 37 Brazilian 21-6 11-6
Zebaztian Kadestam 35 Swedish 15-8 7-5
Ilya Freymanov 30 Russian 12-3 2-1
Mauro Cerilli 43 Italian 15-6 3-4

Moraes closes storied flyweight title run

Moraes leaves as a former eight-time ONE flyweight champion. He fought in twelve ONE World Title bouts. He captured the belt on eight occasions. His rivalry with Demetrious Johnson defined his stay. It highlighted his grappling and finishing skills across several high-level meetings.

Moraes struggled in his final competitive stretch. He lost three of his last four bouts. Those defeats came before his release from the promotion. The sequence halted his title ambitions. It ended one of the most successful flyweight runs in ONE history.

Kadestam’s dramatic welterweight journey

Kadestam exits after highs and lows at welterweight. The Swedish striker went 7-5 in ONE. All seven wins came by stoppage. He once held the ONE Welterweight MMA World Championship. His last bout came in 2025, when he lost by TKO.

Kadestam’s final fight was at middleweight. He faced former middleweight and light heavyweight champion Aung La N Sang. The former titleholder from Sweden suffered a TKO defeat. That 2025 result marked his last appearance for ONE Championship. It closed an action-filled promotional run.

Freymanov’s brief but promising spell

Freymanov’s time with ONE was short and bright. The Russian featherweight went 2-1 in the promotion. He won his first two bouts by finish. Those wins added to his 12-3 career record. His momentum then met a major test in 2023.

Freymanov faced former champion Thanh Le in 2023. Le held the ONE Featherweight MMA World Title before. Freymanov lost that contest. It became his final bout for the organisation. The defeat stopped his rise inside the stacked featherweight division.

Cerilli’s heavyweight run and key defeats

Cerilli leaves ONE with a 3-4 promotional record. The Italian heavyweight struggled against top-level rivals. He suffered defeats at the hands of Brandon Vera. He also lost to Arjan Bhullar. Both opponents were former ONE heavyweight champions. Cerilli could not secure a win at that elite tier.

Cerilli’s overall record remains 15-6 in professional MMA. His time in ONE featured tough matchups across the division. Results did not match his effort and resolve. The promotion has now parted ways with the veteran. No details were given on his next competitive move.
