Joan Mir showcased resilience at the Mugello Circuit, Italy, on June 23, 2025. He fought hard to secure a spot in the top ten, with Takaaki Nakagami also striving for points.
Despite challenges, Mir's performance marked his third consecutive point-scoring finish. The event drew a record crowd, witnessing Mir's determined charge through the field.

Mir's race strategy involved overtaking key competitors like Rins and Quartararo. By the third lap, he was already in the points. His efforts culminated in an 11th-place finish, offering some satisfaction for his weekend's work. "I'm happy that we were able to take the flag and take some points after a really difficult weekend," Mir commented post-race.
Nakagami, racing alongside Mir for Honda HRC Castrol, had a commendable run as well. Although he ran wide at Turn 1, he managed to recover and maintain consistent lap times. This allowed him to climb into point-scoring positions mid-race. Unfortunately, Aldegeur overtook him towards the end of the 23 laps.
Nakagami reflected on his experience: "I was targeting to finish in the points, and I was feeling good with my race pace early on." He noted some rear vibration issues but appreciated the learning opportunity with the factory team. This stint provided valuable insights for his primary role back in Japan.
Honda remains second in the Constructor Championship standings. They are four points ahead of KTM and six clear of Aprilia. The team now prepares for Round 10 at Assen, Netherlands, from June 27 to June 29. Known as The Cathedral, TT Circuit Assen has been part of MotoGP since its start in 1949.
The upcoming race promises more excitement as teams travel over 1,400 km north to Assen. Riders and teams will face new challenges at this historic circuit next weekend.
Mir acknowledged the tough conditions faced during the Italian GP but remained optimistic about future races: "We knew how tough it would be this weekend... Now it's time to go straight to Assen and aim for something more."
Nakagami echoed similar sentiments about learning from this experience: "I really enjoyed being with the factory team... I think it will help with my main job in Japan." Both riders look forward to applying their learnings at Assen.
