Bengaluru, September 13: Valentino Rossi has missed only one Grand Prix so far, but his absence has left a big void in the MotoGP grid.

Recovering after the surgery on his leg, the Italian great is cooling his heels at his hometown of Tavullia.

The 38-year-old missed last Sunday's home Grand Prix in Misano where Yamaha did not name a replacement for him.

With Rossi set to miss the Aragon Grand Prix on September 24 also, where Superbike rider Van der Mark will replace him, fans took to social media to let him know how much they are missing him.

This Fan Club Valentino Rossi Tavullia's video posted on their Facebook page is an apt measurement of his aura.

Fans also took to Twitter to express their emotions.

Blown over by the well-wishes, the 'Doctor' had a message for his fans - who have shown an incredible level of support.

"Ciao from Valentino! It's a great shame to not race in Misano, but I will work every day to come back as soon as possible, and thank you to everybody for the support."

For his part, Rossi is yet to set a timeframe for his comeback, especially with doctors having adviced him 30 to 40 days rest.

But if paddock rumours are to be believed, then bike No.46 will be back to the grid on October 15 at the Motegi GP in Japan.

"If I am not able to in Aragon then I will try for Motegi," Rossi himself had said a few days before and the fans can breathe a sigh of relief over it.
