Max Verstappen expressed satisfaction with his performance and Red Bull's efforts after securing his ninth victory of the Formula One season at the Qatar Grand Prix. Despite losing pole position just before the race, Verstappen showcased a strong performance following his fourth world title win in Las Vegas. He began the weekend with an eighth-place finish in the sprint race, which was won by Oscar Piastri from McLaren.
Verstappen's win marked a significant milestone as he became only the third driver in F1 history to surpass 3,000 career points, joining Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel. During the race, he overtook pole-sitter George Russell on the first lap and maintained his lead throughout all 57 laps. This achievement marked the 14th time Verstappen has led every lap in a single race, breaking Jim Clark's previous record of 13.

With Verstappen's victory, Red Bull reached a new milestone by surpassing 7,000 laps led in their F1 history. They became the fifth team to achieve this feat. However, Verstappen's triumph was not without challenges. The safety car was deployed three times due to various incidents during the race, requiring him to restart each time while maintaining his lead.
Verstappen explained that racing on hard tyres presented difficulties due to low grip levels. "You've just come out of the box so they're already cold," he noted. The safety car made it impossible to warm them up properly. He tried a different approach at the last corner but struggled for traction, making Turn 1 particularly challenging.
The race dynamics were intense as Lando Norris and Verstappen pushed each other throughout. "Lando [Norris] and I were making 1.8 seconds of each other," Verstappen said, highlighting how they kept pushing each other during the race. The track offered good grip this year, allowing drivers to push their tyres further than usual.
Verstappen expressed pride in his team's performance and their ability to turn things around after a challenging start to the weekend. "I'm very proud of everyone in the team turning it around," he stated, acknowledging their hard work and dedication that led to this victory.
The chaotic nature of the Qatar Grand Prix added excitement for both drivers and fans alike. Despite these challenges, Verstappen managed to maintain good pace until the end of the race. His ability to adapt under pressure demonstrated why he remains one of F1's top competitors.
