Webber and Speed lock horns in F1 'bullfight'
MONTREAL, June 9 (Reuters) Toro Rosso driver Scott Speed accused Australian Mark Webber, of sister team Red Bull, of ''brake testing'' him after they collided during Canadian Grand Prix practice.
Speed hit the rear of Webber's car in the latter moments of the second session ahead of Sunday's race in Montreal.
''For some reason I don't understand, Mark did the most strange thing I have seen since I've been in Formula One. I haven't been brake tested like that since my karting days,'' said Californian Speed yesterday.
Webber blamed Speed, however.
''We went down to Turn Eight and I thought we were cruising down there and I was very close to the rear of him and he braked 100 meters earlier than the previous lap,'' the Autosport Web site quoted him as saying.
''I thought I was going to harpoon him big time, really big, but I managed to get my stuff together and went down the inside, and then went into the next corner quite slow.
''We managed to fall over each other. I think he was a little bit asleep initially but then we managed to wake each other up,'' said the Australian.
Webber posted the fifth fastest time during the first practice session but was ninth second time around, while Speed finished 16th in both sessions.
