The World Amateur Golf Ranking is managed by the R&A and USGA. It ranks elite amateur players and includes over 10,000 participants across more than 4,000 events globally. The inclusion of this championship in the WAGR series enhances its prestige and attracts top talent from around the world.

This year's competition boasts an impressive lineup of players. Rising stars like Mayali Kashyap, Ayesha Gupta, Yogya Bhalla, and Bhavya Mann are among those competing. These players are well-known on international circuits and add excitement to the event.

USHA actively supports various sports across India beyond golf. Their initiatives include partnerships with organisations like Mumbai Indians and support for differently-abled athletes in cricket and ultimate flying disc. Mrs. Mala Bawa, Lady Captain at DGC, praised USHA's unwavering support for ladies' amateur golf. She noted that their backing has been crucial in nurturing the sport and encouraging more women to participate. The continued WAGR inclusion is expected to inspire even greater involvement.

Promoting Indigenous Sports

USHA champions indigenous Indian sports like Kalari, Chhinj, Siat Khnam, Thang-Ta, Saz-Loung, Satoliya (Pithu), Mallakhamb, and Gatka. This commitment exemplifies their dedication to fostering inclusivity in sports across diverse disciplines throughout India.

The ceremonial tee-off was performed by Mr. Raj Khosla, President of DGC, alongside national champion Ms. Gauri Monga. This marked the official start of the three-day event held on the Lodhi and Peacock courses at Delhi Golf Club.

The stakes are high at this year's championship due to its WAGR status. Participants are eager to showcase their skills on these renowned greens over the next three days.
