RCB vs PBKS: '18 years, 2 Virgins.....' - Durex Advertisement ahead of IPL 2025 Final floors Netizens, Fans demand Gold Medal, Oscar, Orange Cap!!

By MyKhel Staff

The IPL 2025 Final is not just another cricket match, it is a long-awaited reckoning. Two of the league's oldest and most emotionally invested franchises, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings, will face off in Ahmedabad, each chasing a prize that has eluded them for 17 years.

Since the inception of the Indian Premier League in 2008, neither side has managed to lift the trophy despite assembling star-studded line-ups and enduring roller-coaster journeys season after season. For both teams, this is more than a final- it's an opportunity to rewrite their legacy.

Durex Ad

RCB enter the contest with momentum and purpose. After a clinical performance in Qualifier 1 against this very Punjab side, they've had the luxury of rest and clarity. Punjab Kings, on the other hand, have had a more erratic route. Shreyas Iyer's sublime form-especially his masterful 87* in Qualifier 2-has been a major factor in their surge.

As the two teams lock horns at the Narendra Modi Stadium today, an advertisement on social media has taken the fans into frenzy mode. It is none other than Durex, the brand of condoms and lubricators, who have innovated at the highest level regarding the final.

'18 years, 2 virgins. Who will get Lucky Tonight?', the ad has been running the social media from Tuesday afternoon, denoting the two teams RCB and PBKS.

The metaphor has a close connection to the IPL final as neither team have ever won the IPL title while this edition is the 18th season for the tournament. They shared the story on Facebook and that has garnered a lot of admiration and attraction from the netizens, especially for the innovation of their advertisement campaign.

"Durex management should get a gold medal for their marketing," wrote a person in the comment section.

"Marketing team deserves an oscar for this advertisement," said another. A few others also hilariously demanded the Orange Cap for the brand.
