Tennis Leads the Way

The rankings show tennis continuing its reign as the most financially rewarding sport for women. Of the top 20 athletes, a clear majority come from tennis, benefiting from year-round global exposure, equal prize money at Grand Slams, and strong sponsorship appeal.

Players like Madison Keys, Naomi Osaka, Elena Rybakina, Jessica Pegula, Amanda Anisimova, and Jasmine Paolini all feature, reaffirming tennis as the strongest commercial platform in women's sport.

Olympic and Multi-Sport Stars Break Through

Beyond tennis, Olympic champions and stars from other sports have made significant gains. Eileen Gu, the Chinese freestyle skiing sensation, earned $23.1 million, while Qinwen Zheng continued her rise with $22.6 million.

Track and field icon Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, despite limited competition appearances, earned $8.2 million, driven largely by endorsement power. Golfers Nelly Korda and Jeeno Thitikul, basketball stars Caitlin Clark, Sabrina Ionescu, Angel Reese, and Paige Bueckers, as well as skiing legend Lindsey Vonn, highlight how women athletes are increasingly monetising visibility across leagues and social platforms.

Endorsements Drive Earnings Growth

For many athletes on the list, endorsement income significantly outweighs prize money. Brands are investing heavily in athletes with strong global recognition, Olympic success, and digital influence-marking a shift in how sporting success translates into financial rewards.
