CyberPowerPC India has introduced an 'Esports Masterclass' series aimed at educating gamers and their parents about the esports industry. This initiative, held at ApeCity in Navi Mumbai, seeks to bridge the gap between generations by providing insights into the gaming world. The series features sessions with industry experts, esports athletes, and content creators.
The masterclasses are designed to foster open discussions between families and the gaming community. They aim to highlight the discipline and dedication required in esports, as well as its long-term potential. The first session included Vishal Parekh, COO of CyberPowerPC India, along with Jai Shah and Yash Bhanushali from Orangutan and ApeCity.

Esports is gaining significant recognition in India, being included in events like the Khelo India Youth Games and Asian Youth Games 2025. It will also feature in the Asian Games 2026. The Olympic Esports Games in Riyadh 2027 further solidify its global presence. Indian athletes will compete at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, with a prize pool of $70 million (approximately INR 598 crore).
The second masterclass titled 'The Journey of Becoming an Esports Athlete' featured top Indian players Arman (Aaru) and Ankit Shukla (Akop). They shared personal experiences about their early days, daily routines, competition pressures, and dealing with public expectations. Their advice offered young players a realistic view of what it takes to succeed in esports.
CyberPowerPC India's initiative aims to close knowledge gaps between parents and gamers by encouraging honest conversations. The goal is to dispel myths and create a supportive environment for future esports athletes in India. Vishal Parekh stated, "Gaming and esports in India have evolved into a thriving ecosystem offering diverse career opportunities across content creation, game development, broadcasting, esports management, and of course, professional play."
The FICCI-EY Media and Entertainment Industry Report 2025 indicates that participation in Indian esports tournaments surpassed 2 million in 2024. It is expected to reach 2.8 million by 2025. Prize pools are projected to grow from INR 187 million in 2024 to INR 250 million in 2025.
