Mumbai, May 6: The Refex Mumbai Ultimate League (MUL) Season 5 reached its climax with an exhilarating final at Wings Arena, Bandra, hosted by Off-Season Ultimate (OSU) on May 3.
The season, which commenced on April 13, brought six teams together, showcasing over 30 thrilling matches across four weekends. The league has rapidly grown into a prominent platform for India's emerging Ultimate Frisbee talent and a focal point for community involvement in sports.

The season's finale was a testament to the high level of competition and spirit among the teams, with the Dancing Dragons and Desi Hawks battling fiercely for the championship title.
Despite an early lead by the Hawks, the Dragons quickly regained control, ultimately securing a 15–12 victory in extra time, thanks to Rahul Bariya's (Kali) crucial point. This win marked the Dancing Dragons' second consecutive MUL championship, demonstrating their dominance in the league.
The road to the final was fraught with intense matchups. The Dancing Dragons first secured their spot in the final by defeating the Desi Hawks 11–9 in the first qualifier.
Meanwhile, the Bumbai Bantais stayed in contention by narrowly winning against Reborn Fire 9–8. However, the Desi Hawks managed to set up a rematch with the Dragons in the final after a close 9–8 win over Bumbai Bantais in Qualifier 2. Elsewhere, the 5th–6th place match saw The Afterburners clinching victory over Bombay Rhinos with an 11–9 score.
The league also highlighted individual brilliance, with awards recognizing top performers. Meet Solanki from the Dancing Dragons was the top male scorer with an impressive 40 goals, while Inika from the Afterburners led the female scoring charts with 17 goals. In terms of assists, Altaf from the Dancing Dragons topped the male category with 58 assists, while Dimple (Dancing Dragons) and Ritika (Desi Hawks) shared the honours in the female category with 11 assists each.
The spirit of the game was equally celebrated, with Sunil (Bumbai Bantais) and Drashti (Desi Hawks) being acknowledged as the Most Spirited Players. The Desi Hawks were named the Most Spirited Team, highlighting their commendable sportsmanship throughout the season.
