New Delhi, Nov 12: The men's Indian Open professional golf tournament will continue to offer a prize purse of $2.25 million in the 2025 edition as well, MyKhel has learnt.
This is the second-highest prize money ever offered in India for a professional golf tournament after the Emaar-MGF Indian Masters, which carried a prize money of $2.5 million in 2008.

Backed by title sponsors Hero MotoCorp, the world's largest manufacturers of two-wheelers, the National Open, property of the Indian Golf Union (IGU), will continue to be a co-sanctioned event on the DP World Tour, erstwhile European Tour, along with the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI).
According to DP World Tour's 2025 calendar announced today, the 58th edition of the tournament will be staged from March 27-30 at a yet-to-be-decided venue. However, S K Sharma IPS (Retd), Chairman of the Organising Committee for the Hero Indian Open, confirmed that it will be organised at the DLF Golf & Country Club in Gurugram this time too. The Indian Open has been hosted back-to-back at the Gary Player layout since 2017.
"We are very pleased to receive the continued patronage of title sponsors Hero MotoCorp consecutively for the 17th edition. The tournament has only grown over the years and it will be the last stop of the Asian Swing on the DP World Tour this time too.
"Some of the world's best men's professionals, not just Europe, will be vying for top honours this time as well along with the cream of Indian golf. The tournament is most likely to be hosted at the pristine DLF Golf & Country Club, which has been hailed as one of the toughest courses across the globe. We look forward to hosting golf fans in March," SK Sharma IPS (Retd) said in a statement.
The event was cancelled for the 2020, 2021 and 2022 editions due to Covid but returned in 2024. Winner of the 2024 edition, Japan's Keita Nakajima, is likely to defend his title in the new year. Nakajima's scorched the DLF course with a four-day tally of 17-under par.
Interestingly, Hero MotoCorp are the title sponsor of the $9 million Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour along with the $5 million Hero World Challenge on the PGA Tour. They have been the title sponsor of the Indian Open event since 2005.
