Intense Battles Unfold in Men's & Women's Boxing at the 38th National Games

The men's boxing competition at the National Games delivered intense matchups, with the Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) reaffirming its dominance across multiple weight categories.

In the flyweight (51kg) division, SSCB's Mandengbam Judumani showcased his prowess with a strong victory over Chandigarh's Anshul Punia. The featherweight (57kg) final saw another triumph for SSCB as Sachin secured a convincing win against Himachal Pradesh's Ashish Kumar.

National Games

A highly competitive bout in the light welterweight (63.5kg) category ended with SSCB's Vanshaj emerging victorious over Assam's seasoned boxer Shiva Thapa. In the light middleweight (71kg) division, SSCB's Hitesh Gulia displayed an authoritative performance, overpowering Assam's Abhinab Saikia.

In the light heavyweight (80kg) category, SSCB's Lakshya Chahar clinched a hard-fought victory against Uttarakhand's Himanshu Solanki. The heavyweight (92kg) division, however, saw Uttarakhand's Kapil Pokharia showcase his power with a commanding win over Madhya Pradesh's Paras.

The super heavyweight (+92kg) bout witnessed another impressive performance from Uttarakhand as Narender delivered a dominant display to defeat Rajasthan's Tarun Sharma.

In the women's competitions, the light flyweight (50kg) final saw Uttarakhand's Nivedita Karki claim victory over Haryana's Kalpana. Meanwhile, the bantamweight (54kg) title went to Madhya Pradesh's Divya Pawar, who overpowered Uttar Pradesh's Sonia with a dominant display.

SSCB continued its winning streak in the women's featherweight (57kg) division, where Sakshi outclassed Himachal Pradesh's Vinakshi Dhota. The lightweight (60kg) final also featured an SSCB triumph as Jaismine delivered an emphatic win over Haryana's Manisha.

Assam's Ankushita Boro impressed in the welterweight (66kg) category, securing a hard-earned victory over Uttarakhand's Kajal. The middleweight (75kg) final was highlighted by Olympic medalist Lovlina Borgohain's commanding performance, as she decisively defeated Chandigarh's Pranshu Rathore to further cement her legacy in the sport.

With SSCB and Uttarakhand emerging as dominant forces in both the men's and women's categories, the boxing finals at the National Games delivered exhilarating action, reinforcing the depth of talent in Indian boxing.
