IPL Bulletin For April 27: From KKR & PBKS Share The Points to MI vs LSG & DC vs RCB Revenge Week Finale

By MyKhel Staff

The Indian Premier League (IPL) season 18 week six opened with rain having the last laugh as defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) suffered a slight dent in their IPL 2025 playoff push.

Heavens opened up at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, resulting in the first abandoned contest of the ongoing season as Punjab Kings (PBKS), who held the upper hand in the match against KKR, had to settle for a point.

IPL bulletin for April 27 Sunday

On Shreyas Iyer's return to his former hunting ground, it was young duo of Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya, who continued to impress as a opening pair as they set the joint second highest opening stand of the 2025 season.

After a disappointing finish to Saturday's contest, fans will hope for full matches on double-header Sunday (April 27) as Mumbai Indians host Lucknow Super Giants before Delhi Capitals welcome Royal Challengers Bengaluru to close out the revenge week. Here is the IPL Bulletin for April 27:

KKR, PBKS share points after rain plays spoilsport in Kolkata

IPL 2025 clash between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) was called off due to rain at Eden Gardens. With this, KKR and PBKS shared a point each.

KKR could make only 7/0 in their one over before rains interrupted the action during a run chase of 202 runs. Earlier, a 120-run partnership between openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh helped Punjab Kings (PBKS) post 201/4 in their 20 overs.

Eden Gardens washout puts PBKS in better position for playoff

After the points were shared, PBKS moved to fourth spot on the IPL 2025 points table with five wins, three losses, and a no result, giving them 11 points and a better chance of finishing in the playoff.

The washout may have saved the defending champions from another defeat as they avoided the task of chasing down a challenging target of 202. But KKR may have slightly suffered a dent to their playoff ambitions as they sit in seventh spot with three wins, five losses, and a no result for a total of seven points.

Prabhsimran Singh becomes tenth PBKS player to IPL 1000-run club

The Punjab wicketkeeper-batter continued his fine start to the season by scoring his second fifty - an 83-run knock from 49 balls. With this innings, Prabhsimran completed 1,000 runs in his Indian Premier League (IPL) career.

This season, he has made 292 runs in 9 innings at an average of 32.44 and a strike rate of 168.78. Overall, in 43 matches, he has made 1,048 runs at an average of 24.37 and a strike rate of 151.88, with a century and five fifties. His best score was 103.

Mumbai Indians aim for fifth straight win

Late starters and five-time champions Mumbai Indians bounced back from four defeats in the first five games with a four-match winning streak and jumped into the conversation for the playoffs.

Hardik Pandya's MI started their unbeaten run with a thrilling win over Delhi Capitals, and have since registered wins over Chennai Super Kings and twice against Sunrisers Hyderabad. They will now look to make it five in a row when they face Lucknow Super Giants at home.

LSG look to do the double over Mumbai Indians

Having already beaten the Mumbai Indians at the Ekana Stadium earlier this season, thanks to some terrific death bowling from Shardul Thakur and Avesh Khan, Lucknow Super Giants will look to extend their impressive record against MI and complete the double to move back into the top four.

Mumbai Indians to celebrate ESA Day at Wankhede Stadium

Mumbai Indians' meeting with Lucknow Super Giants will be dedicated to the Education and Sports for All (ESA) initiative championed by Mrs. Nita M. Ambani. The annual ESA game is one of the biggest highlights of the IPL season every year for the Mumbai Indians, with thousands of spirited children from NGOs across the city lighting up the stadium with their infectious energy and dreams.

Delhi Capitals look to snap RCB's unbeaten away start

As the battle for the playoff spots heats up, Delhi Capitals will look to do the double over Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who have proved that they are no pushovers away from home this season.

RCB may have lost three of four games at their home venue, but the Bengaluru-based side remain perfect on the road with five wins in five away from home. So, DC will look to stop that run and hand RCB their first away loss in 2025.

RCB seek revenge against DC to gain advantage in playoff race

After local lad KL Rahul's celebration post the reverse fixture at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, RCB will be looking to get one over Delhi Capitals when Virat Kohli returns to his home ground - Arun Jaitley Stadium, where DC has won one and lost one so far this season.
