Third week of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 18 kicked off with some impressive wins for Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals in Saturday's double header as debate around a veteran's retirement remained the talking point.
The MA Chidambaram Stadium, a fortress of Chennai Super Kings, has been breached twice already this season with DC being the latest to win in a long time at the venue, while Punjab Kings continued to struggle on their home turf and saw their perfect start end.

Also, a long-standing Rajasthan Royals record was broken in the second game of yesterday's double header after one star batter continued his good run against CSK in the first match.
Plus, in the other developments around the lucrative league, two of Lucknow Super Giants stars were reprimanded with one player being punished for the second time for a similar offence as two teams get set to meet for the first time at a venue. Here is a look at the IPL Bulletin For April 6:
KL Rahul's fifty and splendid spells from spinners Vipraj Nigam and Kuldeep Yadav helped Delhi Capitals land their first win at Chepauk against CSK since 2010, ending their hoodoo with a 25-run victory.
This win also meant that DC is the only team to remain perfect after three back to back wins to start off the season. Axar Patel's side had registered wins over Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad before pulling off a historic win over CSK in their own backyard.
CSK head coach Stephen Fleming, said that he has "no idea" about rumours of their former captain MS Dhoni retiring and added that the 43-year-old is still going strong after the team's third straight loss this season.
Rumours about Dhoni's retirement started doing the rounds before the match as the legend's family, including his parents and wife Sakshi, were present at the venue to watch the game.
KL Rahul continued his brilliant run against five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as he slammed his first half-century for Delhi Capitals (DC). Rahul made 77 in 51 balls, with his knock consisting of six fours and three sixes.
Now, in 15 innings against CSK, Rahul has scored 630 runs at an average of 45.00 and a strike rate of 142.85. He has scored six half-centuries against CSK, with his best knock of 98* in 42 balls. In his last 6 innings against CSK, Rahul has scored 333 runs at an average of 66.6 with 3 fifties.
Yashasvi Jaiswal's fifty followed by top bowling spells from Jofra Archer, Sandeep Sharma and Maheesh Theekshana helped Rajasthan Royals (RR) end Punjab Kings (PBKS) winning start to the season.
PBKS, who started the campaign with back to back wins away from home, continued their struggles at the New PCA Stadium in Mullanpur as they suffered their first defeat of IPL 2025. The result sees them drop to fourth spot, while RR are at seventh place with two successive wins.
Indian wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson eclipsed late Australian legend Shane Warne to become the captain with the most wins for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Samson accomplished this milestone during his side's win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Mullanpur.
This was Samson's 32nd win as RR captain, outdoing Warne's 31 wins. Warne captained RR from 2008-11, winning 31, losing 24.
After starting off the season with the most expensive spells in IPL history, Archer has been gaining top form with fast and furious bowling. The England pacer was once again uneasy to handle as he castled PBKS duo Priyansh Arya and Shreyas Iyer in the opening over.
Archer later returned to dismiss fellow pacer Arshdeep Singh, and ended with figures of 3 for 25 in his four overs, a fiery spell which earned him the first player of the match award in the ongoing season.
LSG captain Rishabh Pant has been fined heavily for maintaining a slow over-rate during Friday's clash against Mumbai Indians, while leg spinner Digvesh Rathi was fined 50 per cent of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct.
IPL released a statement to announce that the LSG skipper was penalised for breaching the Code of Conduct and was fined Rs 12 lakh as a result. Digvesh, who has grabbed the headlines with his game-changing spells and fiery celebration, has been handed a second demerit point by the IPL.
Digvesh replicated the notebook celebration that got him in trouble for the first time against Punjab Kings after dismissing Mumbai Indians all-rounder Naman Dhir in the ninth over of the second innings.
Sunrisers Hyderabad will look to end a three-match winless streak when they host Gujarat Titans for the first time at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The two sides were scheduled to meet at the venue last season, but persistent rains washed out the match.
SRH, who opened their campaign with a victory over RR, has lost to Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders, while GT bounced back from their opening game defeat to PBKS with back-to-back wins over Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
