By MyKhel Staff

Week one of the eighteenth edition of the Indian Premier League, witness some high-octane clashes and concluded with a historic result, giving a dose of what's in store for the upcoming weeks of IPL 2025.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru ended their long wait for a positive result in Chennai venue against Chennai Super Kings as new captain led from the front and took the team to the top of the points table.

IPL Bulletin on March 29

The first southern derby ended in favour of the red side, but some of the players from the Yellow brigade crossed milestones in a losing cause. Plus, the questionable fixture between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants found a new date in the other development of the day.

Also, one captain is all set to return and will make his first appearance of the season against his former employers at the Narendra Modi Stadium today. Here is a look at the IPL Bulletin For March 29:

RCB beat CSK at Chepauk for first time since 2008

Rajat Patidar's fifty and Josh Hazlewood's bowling display of 3 for 21 helped RCB defeat CSK by 50 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, and in the process the Bengaluru-based side ended a 17-year Chepauk hoodoo against the Chennai-based side.

Before Friday's win, RCB had last won against CSK in their own backyard back in 2008 under the captaincy of Rahul Dravid by defending a meagre total of 126. Since the 2008 win, RCB had gone on an 8-game winless run against CSK in Chennai. That streak has finally ended.

Rajat Patidar reveals game changing moment for RCB against CSK

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) skipper Rajat Patidar said that the playing surface was helpful to spinners, but it was Josh Hazlewood's first over during the powerplay that was a "game-changing" one.

Tight bowling spells from pacers Josh Hazlewood (3/21) and Yash Dayal (2/18) helped RCB secure a 50-run win over CSK. Hazlewood struck early removing Rahul Tripathi and CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad in his first over.

Ruturaj Gaikwad pinpoints reason for CSK loss

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad expressed that 170 runs was a "par total" on the Chepauk surface and dropped catches, some extra boundaries costed them the game. CSK gave RCB skipper three reprieves during the defeat, costing the team a few extra runs.

Experts and fans question Dhoni's batting position

Mahendra Singh Dhoni batting as low as number nine in a big run chase left several experts and fans puzzled. Former cricketers Robin Uthappa and Irfan Pathan took to social media to express their displeasure on Dhoni's batting position.

Meanwhile, some fans wondered if it is sensible to celebrate the boundaries that count for nothing as the team needed the 'best finisher' of the game to bat up the order in a big run chase.

Ravindra Jadeja Becomes First Player to Big All-Round Milestone

Jadeja becomes the first player to an all-round record of 3000 runs and 100 wickets in the Indian Premier League. The southpaw, who has played big part of his career in CSK, now has 3001 runs and 160 wickets in 242 IPL matches.

Ashwin becomes fifth highest wicket-taker in IPL

Former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin surpassed Sunil Narine to become the fifth-highest wicket-taker in IPL. Ashwin achieved this milestone after dismissing Devdutt Padikkal during the clash between CSK and RCB, moving ahead of Narine with 182 wickets in 214 matches.

KKR vs LSG match postponed to April 8

The fixture between defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) scheduled at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on April 6, has been moved to Tuesday, April 8 owing to deployment of security for Ram Navami festivities on that day.

For clarity, Sunday, April 6, will now be a single-header match day, with Sunrisers Hyderabad hosting the Gujarat Titans at 7:30 PM (Match No. 20) as originally scheduled. Tuesday, April 8, will be a double-header match day, featuring the KKR vs. LSG fixture in the afternoon in Kolkata, followed by Punjab Kings hosting CSK (Match No. 22) in New Chandigarh in the evening, as per the original schedule.

Hardik Pandya set for return after serving ban

Captain Hardik Pandya will take charge of Mumbai Indians when the five-time champions take on his former side Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The MI skipper served a one-match ban carried forward from last season for repeated slow-over rate offence.

Suryakumar Yadav led Mumbai Indians in Pandya's absence in the team's campaign opening defeat to rivals Chennai Super Kings last weekend. Both GT and MI will be keen to bounce back from defeats with Shubman Gill's side coming into the game on the back of a loss to Punjab Kings.
