By MyKhel Staff

New Delhi witnessed the grand unveiling of the Khelo India Para Games 2025 anthem, mascot, and logo at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Complex on Tuesday.

The second edition of the para games is set to take place from March 20 to 27 across three prominent venues in the capital.

The anthem was launched by the Hon'ble Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, during the Fit India Carnival. Celebrating the spirit of inclusivity and resilience, the event also saw the unveiling of the mascot, 'Ujjwala,' by Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Smt. Raksha Nikhil Khadse.

Inspired by the house sparrow of Delhi, 'Ujjwala' symbolizes determination and perseverance, qualities often displayed by para-athletes. Similar to the bird's comeback from the brink of extinction, Ujjwala represents the undying spirit of athletes overcoming challenges.

Adding to the festivities, the logo of the Khelo India Para Games 2025 was jointly launched by Paralympic Committee of India member and former Paralympian Devendra Jhajharia, along with Smt. Sminu Jindal, founder chairperson of Svayam, the Games' accessibility partner. The logo features a dynamic athlete in shades of orange, green, and blue, representing movement, inclusivity, and progress. Iconic elements of Delhi, including the new Parliament building, Bharat Mandapam, the Delhi Metro, and the Yamuna River, adorn the design alongside depictions of para-athletes in action. The tagline 'Champions Beyond Limits', or 'Haunslon Ki Udaan', captures the indomitable spirit of the participants.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Mandaviya expressed his enthusiasm for the event. "This is a very special day. We come to the close of the first-ever Fit India Carnival where 25,000 people participated, and now we are starting the Khelo India Para Games. We now have continuity in the sporting ecosystem of India. This is really very inspiring for all sportspersons," he said.

Acknowledging the scale of the competition, Dr. Mandaviya added, "KIPG will see over 1,300 athletes competing. This is no small feat. The Games have been organised to provide the correct path for talent to grow. There are no losers in sports. Someone wins, and someone learns. That's the beauty of sports."

The anthem, featuring the rousing words "khelega khelega mera India, jeetega jeetega mera India," aims to ignite passion among athletes and spectators alike.

The Games will feature six para sports disciplines - para-archery, para-athletics, para-badminton, para-powerlifting, para-shooting, and para-table tennis. Competitions will be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Indira Gandhi Stadium, and the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range.

Notable para-athletes, including gold medal-winning archer Harvinder Singh, club thrower Dharambir, and high jumper Praveen Kumar, will be among the participants. The Khelo India Para Games 2025 mark the second major national sporting event organized by the Sports Authority of India this year, following the successful Khelo India Winter Games in Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir.

The stage is set for an exhilarating display of talent and determination as para-athletes gear up to make their mark on the national stage.
