Lokesh Suji has been re-elected as Vice President for South Asia in the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF). This decision was made during an online Electoral General Assembly held in Hong Kong. Suji's re-election, which was unopposed, signifies India's growing influence in the esports arena. His leadership role is expected to further enhance the Esports Federation of India's (ESFI) impact on competitive gaming in the region.
The assembly was chaired by outgoing President Kenneth Fok and included representatives from 38 member nations. Vinod Tiwari, Deputy Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), also attended. Thailand's Santi Lothong was elected as the new AESF President with a simple majority vote. New Vice Presidents for various Asian zones were also chosen during this meeting.

Under Suji's leadership, India has achieved significant milestones in esports. The country celebrated historic medal finishes at events like the Commonwealth Esports Championship 2022 and BRICS Esports Championship. Indian athletes have also excelled in the Asian Games 2018 and 2022, showcasing their skills against top global competitors.
The WAVES Esports Championship (WESC) is another initiative under ESFI that aims to nurture local talent. This event provides Indian players with an international platform to compete at high levels. It is part of the "Create in India Challenge" within the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting’s World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES), scheduled for 1-4 May 2025 in Mumbai.
AESF, recognised by OCA, has played a crucial role in integrating esports into major events like the Asian Games. It organised tournaments such as the Asian Esports Games 2018 and Asian Games 2022, featuring popular titles like Dota 2 and FIFA Online. AESF will serve as Technical Delegate for Esports at the upcoming 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
Santi Lothong praised Suji's dedication to advancing esports in South Asia and beyond. "Having worked alongside Lokesh for years, I have witnessed his unwavering dedication to developing esports," said Lothong. He expressed eagerness to continue their collaboration under new leadership.
Kenneth Fok commended Suji's contributions to AESF's journey: "Lokesh has been a steadfast pillar in AESF’s journey." Fok highlighted Suji’s passion and commitment to elevating esports across Asia, noting his lasting impact on key initiatives within the community.
Suji expressed gratitude for his re-election: "I am deeply grateful for the continued trust placed in me." He acknowledged Kenneth Fok’s leadership and looked forward to working with Santi Lothong. Suji emphasised that this milestone reflects esports' growth in India and South Asia.
