Medical staff (physio and doctor) attended to him immediately. A stretcher was brought out, and he received further assessment, including suggestions for a neck brace. An ambulance entered the ground to take him to the hospital.

The stadium fell silent, with visible concern from teammates, including South African players David Miller and Tristan Stubbs, coach Ricky Ponting, and others. Play was interrupted.

Injury Update: How is Lungi Ngidi Now?

Ngidi was stretchered off and transported by ambulance. He appeared responsive to the medical team but was unable to get up or move freely on his own.
