The impact of the collision was devastating, leading to the immediate demise of Manu Bhaker's relatives at the scene. The driver of the car fled the site of the accident, leaving the family in deep sorrow.

"We got the information about the accident about a collision of a car and a scooty. Both the persons on the scooty died. We could not find the driver of the car at the spot," police officer ASI Suresh Kumar said while speaking to India Today.

As per reports, Bhaker's uncle, Yudhveer Singh, a driver with the state roadways, was on his way to work when the unfortunate incident occurred. His mother, Savitri Devi, had joined him on the journey to visit her younger son at Loharu Chowk. Tragedy struck as they reached the Kalyana Mod area, where a speeding Brezza, traveling on the wrong side of the road, collided with their scooter.

The driver of the car lost control, leading to a devastating crash that resulted in the vehicle overturning on the roadside. The impact proved fatal for Yudhveer and Savitri Devi. The driver of the Brezza fled the scene immediately after the accident.

The tragedy strikes at an especially challenging moment for the young athlete, who was in the midst of celebrating her national recognition of receiving the Khel Ratna Award.

Bhaker made history at the Paris 2024 Olympics as the first Indian post-Independence to win two medals in a single edition of the Games. She opened India's medal tally with a bronze in the individual 10m air pistol event, becoming the first Indian markswoman to achieve this feat. She later partnered with Sarabjot Singh to claim the bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team event.
